Geographic Services, Inc., located in McLean, VA, is recruiting qualified Regional Analyst-Human Geographer candidates to fulfill the duties and responsibilities described in the Position Description below. This is a full-time position for task orders under a newly awarded contract.
Position: Regional Analyst - Human Geographer
Description: The successful candidate will be a member of an integrated government-contractor team providing direct support to U.S. National Security objectives. The regional analyst-human geographer will serve as a regional subject matter expert on issues related to human geography, socio-cultural analysis, and geospatial analysis in support of the Intelligence Community (IC). Specifically, the Regional Analyst-Human Geographer will leverage their advanced knowledge and experience with digital cartography, computer technology, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Cartographic and Geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and digital data formats to extract relevant information and develop geospatial intelligence reports and products for the customer.
Required Skills:
Knowledge and experience with digital cartography, computer technology, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Cartographic and Geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and digital data formats. Knowledge and experience with cross-platform, commercial and government exploitation tools such as ArcMap, ERDAS IMAGINE, MapInfo, Remote View, Arc View, FoxPro, Arc INFO, Arc IMS, Dynamo, GeoMedia Professional, and e-mail and common office software to include spreadsheets and word processing. Demonstrated MS Word, PowerPoint, and graphic design skills. Demonstrated participation in and/or directing the activities of highly skilled technical and analytical teams responsible for developing solutions to highly complex analytical/intelligence problems. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated customer support skills. Be a self-starter, be able to work alone, yet be able to share information with team members and customers in a timely manner. Understanding of NGA’s Geospatial Policies like International Policy, Co-Production, and dissemination of data. Collaborating effectively with NGA regional analysts, geospatial analysts, imagery analysts, military officers, cartographers, intelligence analysts, engineers, technicians, managers, vendors, or other customers. Knowledge gained through cartographic experience, regional accounts, imagery tasks, program management, or geospatial tasks.Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship is requiredActive Top Secret/SCI security clearance required. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required. Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years as an Apprentice, 3+ years as a Journeyman, 11+ years as a Senior, and 15+ years as an Expert Regional Analyst-Human Geographer. A bachelor’s degree in a GIS, scientific or equivalent discipline is desired.
